I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

With a fresh dusting of snow over an already ice covered continent, we celebrated our first Christmas at the bottom of the world.  The Galley staff got together for a family meal complete with lobster, steak, and fresh vegetables along with plenty of Christmas cookies.  That evening I performed at MAAG (McMurdo Alternative Art Gallery).  It is a station wide tradition and every Christmas the community puts on a large art show complete with live performances, art installations of all varieties, and dancing.  I was fortunate to participate in Travis' hip hop group called "Special Project Other" for a 90's era hip hop compilation at MAAG.  It was a great time.  After, Chris and I worked the nightshift and had yet another Christmas dinner for all the nightshift workers.  I never get tired of Christmas cookies!  Chris and I were excited to open gifts from our families and each other. It was a great holiday here at McMurdo but we sure did miss our families and friends back home.
